Fluimucil in oral form (effervescent tablet), containing N-Acetylcysteine (NAC), is used to treat respiratory disorders by normalizing mucus clearance, protecting the respiratory tract and improving lung functions.

This active substance fluidifies and dissolves dense secretions stagnating within the bronchial system, thus favouring expectoration.
The mucus that covers respiratory airways mucosa plays an important role in the organism protection from noxious substances present in the air, such as bacteria, dust and chemical impurities.
These impurities are caught by the mucus that makes them harmless; successively the mucus is naturally expelled.
In case of bacterial or viral infections (cold, influenza, bronchitis) as well as chronic irritations induced by noxious substances, an increase in the mucus production occurs. The mucus, by becoming more dense and viscous, can lead to an obstruction of respiratory airways, with difficult breathing and expectoration.
