Indications: Voluven is indicated for therapy and prophylaxis of hypo-volaemia

Features: HES 130/0.4 in 0.9% sodium chloride solution.The generation of starch with an improved safety profile.

- Hydroxyethyl starch with excellent physico-chemical properties (Molecular weight 130,000 Dalton; Molar substitution: 0.4; Substitution pattern: C2/C6 - 9:1)
- Reduced molar substitution, increased C2/C6 ratio and optimised molecular weight distibution.
- Significantly less tissue storage
- Iso-oncotic Solution - replaces lost blood volume on a 100% basis
- Provides both initial and medium-term volume effect (4 - 6 h)

- Maintains normovolaemia and improves haemodynamics
- Safe in high dose application (up to 50 ml/kg BW/day)
- Less influence on haemostasis, even in high doses
